Application tips
- Road should have a good crown in the driving surface.
- Road should have good shoulder drainage – standing water anywhere in the roadway will cause the surface to soften and fail.
- Loosen a minimum of one to two inches of the existing surface and leave it loose at a uniform depth across the roadway. This allows the liquid dust control to penetrate evenly and quickly into the gravel.
- Gravel itself must have a good gradation.
- Gravel should have a good percentage of fine material with some plasticity, giving it a natural binding characteristic.
- If good gravel is not present on the road, fresh gravel should be hauled in prior to a road dust control treatment.
- Consult with your Dust Control Professional to determine if surface compaction is to be done prior to application of dust suppressant or after.
